The best cure for any virus is to replace the infected material. When that is not practical, we have used the KillScores application to remove the Scores virus from Macintosh applications and systems. A task force from the MacPack andthe Apple Corps of Dallas, headed by Howard Upchurch, came up with KillScores and offer it to the Macintosh community as a public service. We have tested it as best we can, but withhold any warranty or responsibility. To use - create a floppy disk containing a System, Finder, and the KillScores application. Start your Mac with this disk. Open the KillScores application, select Remove Scores from the File menu and select the hard drive or floppy that has been infected with Scores. The Open button has two uses - it selects the disk or folder to berepaired, and is used to initiate repair of the disk or folder whose name appears in the rectangle at the top of the file/folder list. KillScores will repair the System, Finder, MultiFinder, Scrapbook, and Note Pad Files, remove the Scores and phony Desktop files, and repair most damaged applications.
